FAQ ABOUT THE STUDY ABROAD COACHING PROGRAM

FAQ

Why should you start preparing to build your profile early?

Building a strong application to top universities is a long process that requires extensive preparation, including standardized tests such as IELTS/SAT, extracurricular activities, teacher recommendations, as well as main and supplemental essays for each school. Without early preparation and a clear plan to strengthen the application, students may lack the competitiveness needed to gain admission to the world’s leading universities.

Are extracurricular activities important in applying?

Extracurricular activities account for over 30% of the score when evaluating a student's profile. The school will use this activity to assess students' leadership skills, integration, and initiative.

Why should you work with a mentor from ILA Study Abroad?

The ILA Study Abroad mentor team consists of former international students who have studied and worked in various countries, with in-depth knowledge of the admissions policies and criteria of top universities. Our mentors will personally accompany, guide, and evaluate each student, developing tailored application strategies based on their own first-hand experience at leading universities.

Are scholarships and financial aid the same?

The scholarship is based on the student's academic performance and profile. Financial support is based on the family's economic situation as declared on the CSS portal. Students can receive both scholarships and financial aid.

Is taking the SAT necessary?

Today, the SAT has become almost an essential “key” when applying to U.S. universities. In other countries, admissions criteria may vary, but having a high SAT score is still a significant advantage that makes your application stand out and increases your chances of being admitted to top universities.
